33 Weeks!

I wrote out a whole post and my app ate it. Now I don't want to redo it!

Nothing new really. Things are moving quickly & slowly at the same time. Ry is growing like a weed. I have a ton of pictures of her I need to get moving on. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some of them.

How far along: 33w4d

Time left: 6w3d

Fruit of the week: Pineapple

How big is baby: 19-22in 4.9 lbs

Total weight gain: 13 they call me consistent

Sleep: Awful. I thought I might be keeping my GERD under control but no, I just wasn't far enough along yet. Its full force & annoying

Food cravings: sweets. I may or may not have picked up brownies, choc chips, pb chips & double stuff oreos at the market the other day. I may or may not have gone to the market just for these items.

Food aversions: Nothing really

Challenges: Lame ass ovary. I have a dermoid cyst on my left ovary. Supposedly its grown quite a bit in the last 20 weeks. Combined with it's size and Nora being head down & a bit big certain positions cause her to put a lot of pressure on the ovary. OUCH to the M-EFFING OUCH. It took over a day for her to move last week & it freaking hurt. They want to remove it asap after delivery. I'm on the fence, it's unlikely.

Movement: lots of rolls & pushes

Boy or Girl?: GIRL! Nora Laine

Best moment this week: Riley calls me MOMMY now, I die.

What Im looking forward to: Everything I just cannot wait to have her here & settle into our new family of 4

What I miss: nothing

Next appointment: Tomorrow

Time left: 7w2d (yikes!)

Fruit of the week: Honeydew

How big is baby: 19in 4.5

Total weight gain: 13 holding strong here.

Sleep: Fabulous. I'm so exhausted I don't even get up to pee

Food cravings: Italian hoagies w/ lays potato chips. Thanks C! They are all I've thought of this week.

Food aversions: Nothing really

Challenges: Rib pain. The coughing fits from my cold & just my general spreading has caused a lot of lower rib pain. I do not like sitting at my desk. HA but then when did I ever.

Movement: Slowing down. She gets in her jabs though

Boy or Girl?: GIRL! Nora Laine

Best moment this week: picked a newborn photog & the girls outfits & I'm super pumped.

What I’m looking forward to: I want to see this little face.

What I miss: my friends. I don't think I've seen anyone in over a month, likely longer...yep still my friends. I need to get out

Next appointment: Oct 10, had one yesterday.

31 Weeks

It was a generally eventless week. We did have our first trip to L&D which was a glaring reminder that we should probably figure out what we are doing with Riley while I'm having Nora. I've ran through some options but get stuck on all of them for some reason or another. I will be my first time away from her for more than a night & I'm staying true to form in my desire to prevent that. But as I sat in L&D by myself I realized its happening whether i like it or not. I just need to find a solution that's best for her & for us, which will NOT be 3 days away from home (partly because of the dogs as well). I dont' think anyway & thats the part I'm struggling with.

L&D was pretty eventless. I was there for dehydration because I kept puking. They monitored the baby & contractions for about 3 hours and gave me two bags of fluids. All was good & they sent me on my way with a prescription for nausea so I could eat and drink at home. By Monday all seemed well.

Its getting a bit harder to drag myself into work. I just don't have much to do while I'm there & I have plenty to do at home so it's annoying me. I'm also exhausted on work days so I feel useless at night which annoys me as well.

With being away for so much time in August a lot of my goals seemed to get pushed aside. Now everything ok that list that isn't done is glaring at me & driving me nuts. I guess it's time to get back on that. The biggest, worst areas being the attic & garage. They have gotten so bad that its just easier to ignore it. I've opened the attic door every monday & friday for 3 weeks. Only to climb right back down when I just can't figure out what the heck is what or where to start. I need an organizer to come in & just do it. Do they have those? Think they are expensive? I don't care, I'll happily pay someone to do it. No, that is not sarcasm, I'm serious.

How far along: 31w5d

Time left: 8w2d (yikes!)

Fruit of the week: Head of lettuce (still)

How big is baby: 19in 3.9lb

Total weight gain: 13, I gained back all I lost in the previous weeks but no more. Got a high five for that one.

Sleep: poor. I haven't been feeling well. I might have my first cold in years. I might be really cranky about it too

Food cravings: cream based soup. I think I might make mushroom tonight woot woot

Food aversions: anything in large quantities. She's taking up valuable stomach space

Challenges: eh nothing this week.

Movement: amazing. Being out of room means she really makes me move when she moves. It's one of my favorite things being pregnant

Boy or Girl?: GIRL! Nora Laine

Best moment this week: ummm I dunno. It was a pretty slow week.

What I’m looking forward to: Definetly still L&D.

What I miss: my friends. I don't think I've seen anyone in over a month, likely longer

Next appointment: next week.

30 Weeks!

30 Weeks is a milestone to me. I don't know why. It just feels like the beginning of the end. Only 10 (+/-) more weeks to go. It seems so close but at the same time still surreal, like it's not really happening.

I had a minor meltdown the other day when someone expressed concern over being able to handle Riley & Nora in those first few weeks by myself. No sense in stressing though there isn't another option. We'll take it one minute at a time, we'll survive & hopefully everyone will come out unharmed. I figure people do it with multiples & situations much harder than todder & newborn so we'll make it through.

Other than that I've got no fears. Well, I fear the stay at home mom job. Not due to it's requirements but society & their opinions of it. I've got a long winded post about that but fear the reprocussions of posting it.

How far along: 30w5d

Fruit of the week: Head of lettuce

How big is baby: 18in 3.2lb

Total weight gain: I'll find out tomorrow. I'm hoping I didn't gain everything I lost. At my size gaining is not the MOST important thing

Sleep: We moved Ry to a toddler bed so my sleep is light & interupted

Maternity clothes: nope I'm rocking skinny jeans & a spandex top

Food cravings: Peaches. They are amazing

Food aversions: water. I am so sick of water

Challenges: Contractions. Lots of them quite often. They started last night and were surprisingly uncomfortable.

Movement: She is out of room. It's become less kick & jab and more stretch & roll. I can push back on her now

Boy or Girl?: GIRL! Nora Laine

Best moment this week: I'm doing more shopping & rileys move to her toddler bed. I really think it's going well but there are obviously kinks to work on

What I’m looking forward to: Definetly still L&D. I'm excited to talk to them about what options I have tomorrow morning

What I miss: beer

Next appointment: tomorrow. We are going to discuss some pain management for L&D but I think most of the appointment is going to be about these damn contractions.

Beginners Luck

Last Thursday (5 days ago) we made the transition to Riley's new room & new toddler bed. Its been a while since we have had an unnatural transition, meaning one that Riley didn't initiate herself (bottles, solids, etc). I was very nervous & unsure of how this move would go.

She helped clean out the new bedroom & we spend a lot of time in the room checking stuff out. The toddler bed hung out in our living room for a few days. She climbed on it & rolled around & got in and out. We set up the room on Monday & she played & messed around exploring & seeing all her new stuff. We were going to make the move Monday but I had to work on Tuesday & I was afraid of a sleepless night. So instead we waited & let her spend the next few days just playing and feeling things out.

By Thursday she was ready! After our sippy & snuggle she picked up her blanket, said "night night" and climbed the stairs. She went right to her new room climbed on her bed and that was the last we heard of her. Friday night was much of the same. It was very bittersweet for me. My baby didn't need me! She wasn't a baby & she was just fine in her big monster filled room without her momma.

UNTIL...Saturday morning at 4:30am. When nothing but momma would calm her. She ended up in my bed because...well because I'm 8 damn months pregnant and effing tired. She went right down for her nap on Saturday & helped herself to bed Saturday night. So I think that was just a random bad morning.

It wasn't until Sunday that we heard the jangle of the door nob after bed. Both Sunday & Monday she climbed the steps all ready for her bed BUT she had no interest in staying in bed. Monday night was the worst as we must have put her back in that bed at least 20 times. I'd put her in, kiss & love you then leave. Most times I barely made it down the hall before Paul would say she was out already. I reminded myself every single time that it always worked on Nanny 911 & that woman is straight genius. Keep going. Keep trying. She will get sick of this game before I do. Over an hour later and she did.

My big girl is not so big & she does need her momma. I am optimistic that if we keep consistent & stick to the routine this will be a short lived transition phase. Who knows, maybe these last two nights were the fluke, not the first two. Only time will tell. Either way, shes stinking a-freaking-dorable in that toddler bed all snuggled in with her night night.

29 weeks!

How far along: 29 Weeks 6 days (yikes)

Fruit of the week: Butternut Squash

How big is baby: 17.2 inches, 3+lb

Total weight gain: Umm apparently I lost a bunch of weight so I'm down to 9 total gain

Sleep: WAHHH I think I sleep soundly but it's so interupted. The pelvic pain makes rolling over excruciating

Maternity clothes: this is a ridiculous question to have every week. I should remove it. ::yes yes you should, but you didn't apparently::

Food cravings: Nada. I think peaches are amazeballs but don't require them. Pretty much if it's not sitting next to me so I dont' have to get up to get it I'm not overly interested.

Food aversions: None

Challenges: Walking. It hurts. Sometimes I cry.

Movement: I love it. Some of the higher jabs are starting to hurt a bit but I figure that just means shes another strong girl!\

Boy or Girl?: GIRL! Nora Laine

Best moment this week: Shopping! I got my girls some a-freaking-dorable matching outfits. I think i might have hated it when Jen and I were dressed alike but I'm sure Nora & Riley will lurvvve it.

What I’m looking forward to: Labor & delivery. No joke. Post on that shortly.

What I miss: beer

Next appointment: Next thursday! We are going to discuss some different pain options for labor. I'm very excited!

Brain Drain

I have gone stupid. Seriously. The number of absurd things I've done in the last week is embarassing.

Here, I will highlight my trip to the grocery store on Monday. I guess I thought Riley was fully potty trained as I never took the diaper bag. Needless to say she went & put her heart and soul into it. Might as well add diapers & wipes to my list of purchases, even though I have multiple cases at home.

What should have taken about 30 minutes took well over an hour because Giant was doing inventory. When they do inventory they turn the products backwards so they know they have been counted. UMMM WTF! I don't know what I'm looking for by nutritional information!

Finally we are done & can leave. As soon as I see my car I see something is off. It looks like the doors are open. No, can't be! Someone broke in! I can't believe it! This wouldn't have happened in they weren't doing inventory. I'll call and complain. But wait! The camera is still there. Your purse is still there. The toys, everything of value still sitting there right on the floor. You dumb ass you never closed the door!

Get home never locked the house either.

Unload, no bread. Damnit it was 2 for $4 of the good kind. Wait, I paid for it, it's on my reciept. Search the car. Search the child & her usual hiding places. Get prematurely mad at the food theif Sport. Nope, I left it at the store somewhere. Probably the cart. The Giant manager laughs at me buts offers a replacement. Thank goodness. It was only 10am but I counted that day as over. We checked out for the rest of it, nothing good was going to happen.

The real kicker came this morning when I dropped Riley off at school. I was a little preoccupied because she cried and it upset me but really there is no excuse for walking around the car & hoping into the passenger seat. Yep. Keys in hand. Completely alone I sat in the passenger seat of my own car. WTF dude. Seriously embarassing to have to climb back out of your car & go the drivers side once you realize no one is there to drive you.

I have decided that I can no longer function. I should probably stop working now.
